Jun Cha

At age twenty, Jun Cha has achieved recognition of his work throughout Los Angeles and the tattooing community. Jun is known for his Fine Line Black N Grey tattooing, painting, designing and illustration. As traditional mediums continue to be employed in his work, eventually tattooing became dominant just 4 years ago. Aside from the tattoo industry, Jun also majored in Illustration Design at Art Center Pasadena. On a daily basis he is a creative director and designer, working with brands such as The Hundreds and now with C1RCA Select.

Low or high tech

Low. Everything is drafted, painted, designed and finished by hand. After all the hands on work is done, computers play a role if necessary.

Early influences

Traditional old masters, european painters, sculptors, psychology, tattoo culture, living and growing in the westside of L.A.

Personal work vs. commercial work

Voice and dialogue are the same, mediums change but they are all integrated. Tattooing, designing, illustration and painting are different animals but they revolve and focus around similar themes and ideas.

Favorites

Michelangelo, Bernini, Carravagio, Sargeant, Nerdrum…life people and the struggle.

Future
